Annual Leave
Annual leave entitlements and other calculations can be managed in various ways, e.g. the insertion of a total yearly amount in the entitlement section of the database; general clerical employees with less than 2 years service might be entitled to a pro-rata percentage of the their monthly worked hours; seasonal staff might receive a pro rata percentage (normally 8%) of all hours worked (for example, receiving 48 minutes for every 600 minutes worked).
Bank Holidays
Bank holiday entitlements can be calculated by various methods and each organisation may have varied bank holiday calculations. One of the most common calculations for bank holiday entitlements would be;
Full Time Staff = Receive a standard day for each bank holiday (7 hours / 8 hours etc)
Part Time Staff = Receive an average day based on the previous four weeks (Only if the employee has worked 40 hours or more in the preceding four week period).
Working time regulations
Working time directive reports have been included as standard in the database. The system compiles reports of working hours and calculates the average working hours within the required reference period. It provides employers, at any time, with a snapshot of the working hours of employees, in particular, where employee hours are likely to exceed the statutory limit. The system is designed to flag those individuals who have agreed that the restrictions on their hours will not apply.
